Call it a strategic plan, business plan, growth plan, operational plan. Whatever you call it, hopefully you are well on your way with your 2021 planning.
Just having a plan, however, doesn’t necessarily mean you are certain to grow. What matters is the fact that you have set measurable goals and are holding yourself accountable.
GETTING STARTED

- Create a shared vision for the future of your organization
- Establish strategic goals, initiatives, actions, and critical success factors
- Create a plan to outline THE COMPANY’s future direction for sustainable growth and success
THE ESSENTIALS
- Vision, Mission, and Values
- Business Goals and Objectives
- Strategic Direction
- Competitive Advantage
According the the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, only about 1/3 of businesses survive beyond 10 years. The good news for these more seasoned companies is that they have more information about their customers’ preferences and needs. Having this background data is foundational to a sustainable and actionable plan.
One ingredient to a successful strategic plan that doesn’t depend on the age of your business, is employee buy-in. Your business can craft the best plan in the world, but if your teams don’t believe in it or understand the direction you have set forth or see their role in it, your success rate will plummet.
Having a plan for what you expect to happen can help you manage the unforeseen changes that inevitably will come your way. That’s not to say you should follow it blindly. A clear vision that is communicated clearly with measurable steps is easier to adjust as reality comes into play than relying on luck.
